This page shares who we are, how the Camino brought us together, and why we now dedicate our work to supporting pilgrims walking the Via Podiensis.
Our Story
For us, the Via Podiensis is not simply a historic pilgrimage route in France.
It is a path of service,
a path of timing,
and a path of love.Literally.
In 2011, Robert was living in the United States when he felt what many pilgrims quietly recognize as the call.
He set out from Le Puy-en-Velay, walking the Via Podiensis toward Santiago de Compostela, and continuing on to Finisterre.
He expected transformation.
He did not expect his life to change direction.
On his return journey, he stopped in the UK to visit his mother. A sudden fall meant she needed full-time care. What was meant to be temporary became six years.
Missing the daily rhythm of the trail, Robert created a small Facebook group dedicated to the Via Podiensis (GR65), simply to stay connected — and to support other pilgrims walking this route.
The Path that brought us together
Walking towards each other
In 2014, Kate woke with a clear inner knowing: Walk a Camino.
Searching for grounded, practical guidance for the Via Podiensis, she found Robert’s Facebook group.
What she discovered there was a steady presence — generous, practical, and quietly attentive. The kind of guidance that helps you feel capable and supported before you ever set foot on the trail.
Kate walked the Via Podiensis in 2015. Grateful for the support she had received, she began sharing her reflections in return.
At the end of her pilgrimage, she traveled to the UK to visit her grandparents’ grave.
Robert was living just twenty miles away.
In December 2015, they met.
They didn’t need long to know.
From the very beginning, there was recognition — and an almost uncanny sense of how much they already had in common.
Eventually, Kate set one condition:
They could build a life together —
but first, they had to walk a Camino side by side.
In 2016, they chose the Camino del Norte, walking together along Spain’s northern coast.
The Camino tested and confirmed what their hearts already sensed: pace, patience, silence, resilience, humor, and trust.
The Camino became not just the road that had introduced them —
but the road where they chose one another.
In 2017, they were married.
